Trudon - Louise Divine Wax Bust
The motto "Deo regique laborant" meaning 'They work for God and the King" [They, meaning the bees.]
In 1643, on rue Saint-Honoré, Claude Trudon set up shop as a grocer and candler. His candles supplied parishes and homes.
In 1714 the use of of beeswax was introduced to the process of making.
The wax is carefully harvested from the hive before being filtered, washed, and exposed to sunlight in order to obtain the purest white possible.
In centuries to follow, we have come to live with the "miracle of electricity", extending the illusion of sweet mother natures daylight. Though I feel in many ways, fooling our circadian rhythm, essential for the balance to our well being.
Light therapy is one of the most important everyday elements; of certainty to me. The benefits of being exposed to candlelight is a purer form, emitting less intensive blue light; crucial to organic-ly slip into least resistant stage of deep layers in restorative sleep.

One of a kind - Gallery Komjima - An example of TSUTSUGAKI technique with the design of the cormorant; an art form in itself. The use of this bird as symbolism, fruition of abundance in Japanese culture.
The technique of tsutsugaki involves protecting specific areas of cloth by applying a substance like a starch paste that is impenetrable by the dye. Once the textile is dyed, the paste is removed and colored dyes are hand-painted on the still-white areas to produce a range of designs and auspicious symbols. (mfa.org)
