Supportive Simplicity

Emilio Pucci - Blue and White column dress. Vintage. No zippers, it's a pullover.

Patricia Urquiola - Moroso Rendondo Swivel Armchair. "An armchair with a distinctive two–part shape, the padded shell embraces the huge seat cushions. Its curves are shown off by the total absence of sharp corners and the softness of the fabric, and the quilted decoration where the thread, like the lines of a pencil, draws an elegant three-dimensional form to call to the senses. In its design, Redondo is inspired by 1950s and 1960s American cars- their upholstered interiors, the soft curves of their bodywork, and on-the-road comfort for long coast-to-coast drives. To the observer, it is the stage for scenes for everyday life."

The embroidered quilted pattern reminds me of ripples from skimming stones on water. Made in Italy.

Chantal - Classic Polished Stainless-Steel Tea Kettle

When water comes to a boil, this teakettle's Hohner harmonica whistle sounds off with all the resonance of a train whistle; it has a two-tone harmonica whistle. Beautiful Life

Gilberto - Papadopoli Glass in Antique Crystal – Palazzo - Classic antique crystal Murano glass with Palazzo Papadopoli’s façade engraved on the surface. Made in Venice. Well, dear Lord this is the prettiest glass resting on a nightstand, for quenching in the middle of the night thirst or a fresh picked flower.

Peter Nitz - Custom/ The Salem Pochette - "...It is often the case that the stories which stick with us have no clear beginning or end. We enter the story at a random point in time. Our imaginations and emotions attach us to the meaning we desire for ourselves; objects tell such meaningful stories..."

1st Dibs - One of a Kind - Mahogany Butterfly Cabinet -

"Some of the world's most amazing butterfly species are on display in this beautiful mahogany collector's cabinet. The cabinet's drawers contain hundreds of butterflies and moths. All are housed in a wonderfully constructed case, with double doors that feature brightly colored marquetry butterflies in the Art Nouveau style, origin England, circa 1890.

Naturalists have collected butterflies for over 300 years with the earliest surviving specimens dating from the late 17th century, the beginning of the Scientific Revolution. Butterfly collections were a result of an ever-growing interest in natural history and many were displayed in curio cabinets throughout the town houses and country mansions of Britain's wealthy society. King George III, Winston Churchill, Neville Chamberlain and poet Thomas Grey all participated in the pursuit of entomology."

The Kimono Gallery - Meiji to mid-Taisho (1880-1920) Pink - "The prominent motif on this furisode is that of the Tabane-Noshi: "noshi" originally means narrow strips of dried abalone bundled together in the middle, and was the ritual offering to God in Japanese Shinto religion. This motif was created with yuzen resist-dye with embroidery highlights and metallic couching outlining.

There is this beautiful image I often refer to for inspiration; a woman in a jūnihitoe. The formality of this garment ritual is so beautiful; the layering of twelve or more robes of various lengths. And present day, really only seen today displayed for viewing in museums.

Thunder Love - Made in Portugal. Socks produced in small family workshops by hosiers who have been doing this throughout three generations. The feeling of sock skating across the flat smooth surface.
